Drop by drop – in the right dose, high-performance lubricating oils effectively keep your machines running. They form a stable fluid film at the lubrication point, which protects against friction, wear or corrosion even under high loads, speeds or temperatures. What makes an effective lubricating oil? It has a good viscosity, so it can reach even hard-to-reach lubrication points and consists of an additive that is specially adapted to the respective application. Another special feature of lubricating oils: They can dissolve impurities and residues / abrasion and support heat dissipation at the lubrication points. Due to their properties, lubricating oils can be used for numerous applications and lubrication systems.
Interesting facts about lubricating greases
Lubricating greases not only permanently reduce mechanical friction and corrosion, they also protect machine elements from external influences such as humidity or contamination. In grease lubrication, small drops of oil are released to the area to be greased via a carrier that acts like a sponge and are absorbed again. In this way, a lot of lubrication is done with very little oil, which, however, requires regular relubrication to prevent wear. From an economic point of view, the use of lubricating greases is nevertheless a cost-effective alternative to oil lubrication. In practice, lubricating greases are used in particular when oil lubrication is not possible.
